Powder post beetle popularly known as “wood borer” implies the damaging activity at the larval stage of these beetles wherein they reduce timber to a mass of very fine powder like material. Among many different kind of insect that attack wood and wood products, destructiveness of woodborer is rated second to that of termites.
Woodborer damage basically characterized by the presence of extremely fine, flour like powder falling from wooden surface through tiny holes termed as “pin holes” or “shot holes”
